Topps has partnered with the NCAA to launch their inaugural March Madness basketball card series, which promises to excite collectors and sports enthusiasts alike. Priced at $139.99 per pack, collectors can get their hands on a set of eight cards, including one autograph card from a selection of standout players.
Among the featured athletes are Zach Edey from Purdue, the men’s Player of the Year, and Caitlin Clark, the women’s Player of the Year. Each pack not only contains the coveted autograph card but also includes six base cards and one parallel card numbered to 99 or less, adding an element of exclusivity to the collection. For those who purchase before Thursday through the official Topps website, there is a chance to obtain dual autograph cards, with one in every ten packs.
The card series showcases 20 prominent figures in college basketball, with athletes from both the men’s and women’s categories making an appearance. Some of the standout players featured in the Bowman U NOW March Madness series include Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham from Kentucky, Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle from UConn, and Kyle Filipowski from Duke on the men’s side. On the women’s side, names like Cameron Brink from Stanford, Aaliyah Edwards from UConn, and Paige Bueckers from UConn grace the collection.
Exciting dual autograph pairings are also part of the series, enhancing the appeal for collectors. Combining athletes like Caitlin Clark and Zach Edey, Clark and Angel Reese, Reese and Hailey Van Lith, and Sheppard with Dillingham, these unique cards offer a special touch to the collection.
Caitlin Clark’s feature in the Topps card series will be available until April 1, after which she will transition to an exclusive trading card agreement with Panini America. This collaboration with the NCAA not only allows Topps to integrate the iconic March Madness branding into their products but also opens doors for future joint projects that can further captivate fans of college sports.
Over the course of this season, Topps has released more than 120 Bowman U cards via the Topps NOW platform, with a significant focus on showcasing college basketball talents. Caitlin Clark, in particular, has been prominently featured on 13 different cards, reflecting her popularity and impact in the collegiate sports scene. By including college players in the traditional Topps Bowman University line for the past two years, Topps continues to elevate the collector experience by celebrating the vibrancy and talent of college sports.
