Fanatics and NHL Unveil Discover NHL Winter Classic Jerseys

Fanatics and the NHL have teamed up once again to unveil the much-anticipated uniforms for the Discover NHL Winter Classic®, scheduled to take place outdoors at the iconic Wrigley Field on December 31. The Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues will take the spotlight, showcasing jerseys that incorporate unique design elements inspired by their city’s history and traditions.

Chicago Blackhawks fans will be delighted with the team’s Winter Classic uniform, which seamlessly merges the franchise’s rich heritage with modern design concepts. The jersey features a classic lace-neck collar reminiscent of early hockey days, complemented by a vintage cream color that harkens back to the Original Six era. Notable details include stars from the Chicago flag embedded in the crest and subtle pinstripes in the back numbers, a nod to the city’s baseball legacy. This blend of elements culminates in a design that pays homage to the Blackhawks’ legacy while celebrating Chicago’s broader sports culture.

On the other side of the ice, the St. Louis Blues will present a Winter Classic jersey that pays tribute to the city’s hockey history in a unique and innovative way. For the first time in franchise history, the primary wordmark adorns the chest, replacing the iconic Blue Note logo. This bold move references a 1966 prototype uniform that was never worn, adding a touch of historical significance to the design. Additionally, a vintage-style “Blue Note” graces the shoulder, further highlighting the Blues’ rich heritage. Fleur-de-lis motifs, symbolic of St. Louis, are discreetly integrated into the inside back neck and hem loop labels, honoring the city’s cultural roots.

Fans eager to sport these special edition jerseys can find them at NHLShop.com, NHLShop.ca, the official team stores of the Blues and Blackhawks, and the NHL Shop NYC flagship location. Alongside the jerseys, an array of Winter Classic merchandise is available, including winter hats, outerwear, and other collectibles, with new items set to launch in the lead-up to the event.

The Discover NHL Winter Classic tradition, which began in 2008, continues to captivate fans with the allure of outdoor hockey. This year’s edition will mark the 16th NHL Winter Classic and the 42nd regular-season outdoor game in League history, promising an evening of thrilling matchups and unforgettable moments.

Hockey enthusiasts can tune in to the Discover NHL Winter Classic on Tuesday, December 31, with live coverage starting at 5 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. CT. Viewers in the U.S. can catch the action on TNT and Max, while Canadian fans can follow the game on Sportsnet and TVA Sports. The event guarantees to deliver a memorable outdoor hockey experience, blending tradition with fresh designs for fans of both the Blackhawks and Blues to enjoy.
