Memory Lane’s Exclusive Auction: A Rare Vintage Card Collection

Memory Lane’s Premier Auction is making waves in the world of vintage sports cards, captivating enthusiasts with its limited yet impressive selection. With 120 meticulously curated cards up for grabs, this prestigious event is garnering attention for its high-grade offerings and historically significant pieces.

Leading the pack is the highly sought-after 1909 T204 Ramly Walter Johnson rookie card. With only two cards in NM/MT condition graded PSA 8, it’s no wonder that this gem quickly achieved a six-figure bid. Equally captivating is the rare T206 Ty Cobb Portrait (Green) card, boasting only three copies graded PSA 7 in existence. The auction also features a highly rated PSA 6 Cobb ‘Bat Off Shoulder’ Old Mill back.

The pre-war era is well-represented in this collection, including exceptional cards like the PSA 7 graded T206 Cy Young and the highest graded PSA 9 T206 Nap Lajoie (Throwing) card. A true standout item is the 1952 Bowman Mickey Mantle card in PSA 9 grade. With only 13 cards at this level, and just two known to be higher graded, this card is a prize possession.

But the legacy of Mickey Mantle doesn’t stop there. The auction also includes six more Mantle cards from the 1950s, each graded either 8 or 9. Among these are prized versions from the 1953 Topps and Bowman series, further solidifying Mantle’s status as an iconic figure in the sports card world.

Roberto Clemente takes center stage in this auction, with a range of cards from 1956 to 1973. Mint 9 graded cards dominate the collection, outnumbering cards from other players. Willie Mays also features prominently, with exceptional pieces like the rare 1962 Topps card graded PSA 9 and a 1970 Topps card, one of only two graded PSA 10.

Jackie Robinson’s impact is not forgotten, as the auction includes four of his cards. Highlights include PSA graded versions of his 1949 Bowman and 1952 Topps issues. The auction also boasts PSA 10 rookie cards of baseball legends George Brett and Rickey Henderson.

Football enthusiasts can find their shares of high-grade rookie cards, with the likes of Frank Gifford, Johnny Unitas, and Joe Namath. Basketball collectors, on the other hand, can delight in rookie cards of Bill Russell (PSA 7), Wilt Chamberlain (PSA 8), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (PSA 8), Larry Bird/Magic Johnson (PSA 9), and Michael Jordan (PSA 8).

If you’re a collector or a sports enthusiast, the Premier Auction by Memory Lane presents a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of sports history.
