CCG Acquires Autograph Authentication Leader JSA

In a move that promises to revolutionize the world of collectibles, Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) has made a significant acquisition by adding James Spence Authentication (JSA) to its prestigious portfolio. JSA, a renowned name in the realm of autograph authentication, founded by the autograph enthusiast James Spence, Jr. in 2005, has set the gold standard in verifying millions of signatures over the years. With this strategic merger, CCG aims to elevate the authentication, grading, and encapsulation services for autographed collectibles by leveraging the expertise of these two industry leaders.

James Spence and James Spence III, the driving forces behind JSA, will continue to steer the operations of the authentication powerhouse, ensuring the continuation of the quality and reliability that collectors have come to expect. Additionally, the co-owner Mark Pepitone will play a crucial role as a senior advisor, adding his rich experience to the synergistic collaboration between CCG and JSA.

The amalgamation of CCG and JSA comes in response to the burgeoning demand from collectors for a one-stop solution that covers authentication, grading, and encapsulation of autographed memorabilia. While CCG has been a prominent player in authentication through its Signature Series, the acquisition of JSA fills the void by introducing a full-fledged authentication and grading service for autographs.

This union of industry giants is poised to redefine the landscape for collectors of sports memorabilia, autographs, and various collectibles by offering a comprehensive array of services that blend JSA’s esteemed authentication proficiency with CCG’s expertise in grading and encapsulation.

Commencing in April, collectors can look forward to a seamless submission process that caters to both JSA and CCG services, simplifying the authentication, grading, and encapsulation of signed items. The companies have assured further enhancements and updates in the pipeline, underscoring their commitment to innovation and service excellence.

James Spence, Jr., and Mark Pepitone, key figures at JSA, have expressed their eagerness towards the merger with CCG, envisioning a future imbued with groundbreaking developments in autograph authentication and collecting. The vast resources and industry know-how of CCG are poised to bring about transformative changes in the authentication landscape.

In the immediate term, JSA and CCG will operate as distinct entities as they work towards integrating their services seamlessly. This strategic decision is positioned to offer collectors and dealers a more holistic and efficient service suite, heralding a new era in the authentication and grading of collectibles.
